She has a degree in English Literature from the University of Sheffield, where she also completed modules in philosophy and psychoanalysis. This led to a deep interest in human thought processes, emotions and brain development, and she has continued to learn about these subjects. This has helped Kathryn to become a calmer, kinder and more understanding person, and she hopes that this book will help young learners to understand themselves, and others, a little more too.
