The Sommer of My Life

Marcelene Dyer reflects on her life as wife to Wayne Dyer, mother of seven, and her daughter's struggles with addiction.

In this deeply personal memoir, Marcelene Dyer explores the joys and sorrows of her daughter Sommer's life as an addict: a journey filled with resilience, spiritual growth, and the unbreakable bonds that transcend time and space.

Marcelene lived through the deaths of her parents, her brother Rich, her husband Wayne, but never thought she would outlive one of her children. After years of battling opioid addiction, Sommer lost her life in May 2022 at 38 years old.

Through prayer, meditation, and silent reflection, Marcelene was able to release any judgment about her daughter's life, find solace, and harness unconditional love. Guided by her faith and with a little help from ayahuasca, she came to understand that life is measured not by one's actions but by the depth of love we share.

Marcelene offers an intimate look at her embodiment of love and how it has shaped her path-challenging conventional expectations and recognizing love as life's greatest purpose. The Sommer of My Life is a testament to faith, healing, and the enduring power of connection.
