English for Specific Purposes

This book is aimed primarily at law students but its themes may be of interest to anyone with an interest in English. The topics in the book cover a wide area from labour law to family law and for this reason are designed to be stand-alone chapters. Newspaper articles on the theme of the chapter form the backbone of each chapter and are followed by questions to test the reader’s comprehension. Each chapter also has at least one video exercise as well as vocabulary exercises to test the readers understanding and to aid memory recall of new vocabulary. The book may also be a useful aid for teachers of Legal English or any English teachers for that matter as the sole aim of the book is to try and create an interactive learning experience for students and the themes have been chosen with the express reason to start discussions and debates in the particular areas studied.
